Day of Service
THANKS TO ALL WHO MADE IT POSSIBLE! PICTURES COMING SOON!
Friday, April 26, the junior high, sophomore and senior classes of Cardinal Ritter High School will be giving back to the community with a day of service to St. Gabriel the Archangel Church, Gleaners Food Bank, and the Rittertown neighborhood.
The senior class will spend the day at Gleaners Food Bank packaging and preparing food for those in need, and will even participate in some reflection activities to better live in solidarity with those they are helping.
Our entire sophomore class will spend the day in the Rittertown neighborhood building a raised garden to serve and beautify the area. This garden will be used by neighbors and both Cardinal Ritter and St. Michael/St. Gabriel schools.
Freshmen that are not going on the zoo trip, will be cleaning up our adopt a block section of Rittertown and the playground of the CRHS Daycare, as well as helping any neighbors in need.
Our junior high will be working at St. Gabriel the Archangel church, raking, cleaning the sanctuary and building, and beautifying common areas. They too will participate in some reflective activities to become more aware of those that need more help in our community.
At CRHS, living the gospel value of loving our neighbor, is integral to the education of the entire student, and this opportunity to take a day specifically to reinforce that value is a gift to not only those we will be serving, but for the students as well.
Please pray for our students and staff as they take on this endeavor!
Thank you to all who donated and made this year's Runathon a huge success! The students and families of Cardinal Ritter raised over $43,000 at this awesome event!

On this, the 13th day of March, in the year of Our Lord 2013, the Cardinals of the Holy Roman Church, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, have chosen as the Supreme Pontiff and Successor of St. Peter Jorge Cardinal Bergoglio of Argentina, who will go by the name Francis.
LET US PRAY:
Lord, source of eternal life and truth, give to Your Servant, Francis, a spirit of courage and right judgment, a spirit of knowledge and charity.
By governing with fidelity those entrusted to his care may he, as successor to the apostle Peter and Vicar of Christ, continue to build up Your church as a sacrament of unity and a visible sign of Your Love to all the world.

Construction Celebration May 4th
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Cardinal Ritter High School Celebrates Construction of New Field
(Indianapolis) - Friday May 4th, Cardinal Ritter High School will be holding a Construction Celebration to observe the beginning of the transformation of its on-campus sports complex. This $1 million renovation is made possible by donations made to the CREATE and TURF IT campaigns. The celebration will get underway at 11:30 am in the Cardinal Ritter High School gym and will include the entire Cardinal Ritter student body, alumni, donors and friends of Cardinal Ritter. Also in attendance will be student representatives from the elementary schools in the Archdiocese of Indianapolis’ West Deanery. Through their school‘s Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) sports teams, they will utilize these new facilities frequently in the future.
This new synthetic turf field and all-weather track will expand opportunities in our athletic program. Cardinal Ritter’s track and field team will, for the first time ever, host track meets in the spring of 2013. Currently, the entire track schedule is made up of away meets. The soccer teams, who had been traveling to Kunz Stadium, will now be able to practice and compete on campus. The Raider junior varsity and freshmen football teams will trade the worn, rocky field of the past and play games on this new turfed field. Finally, hundreds of CYO athletes from all over Central Indiana will take advantage of this new facility during their track, soccer, and football seasons.
The CREATE campaign is a 4 year fundraising campaign with a goal of $3.3 million. These funds are being distributed across three areas: the constant need for tuition support, facility improvements like expanding the air conditioning to include the entire school, and academic enhancements such as SMART boards, a bio-medical track, and engineering and nano-technology courses. The TURF IT campaign is made up of parents, friends, and alumni who donated to make this new track and field a reality for the students of Cardinal Ritter.
Even in these tough economic times, Cardinal Ritter High School continues to move forward to meet the needs of our continually growing enrollment.

New Stations of the Cross dedicated
CARDINAL RITTER HIGH SCHOOL DEDICATES NEW STATIONS OF THE CROSS
The Mater Dolorosa Chapel at Cardinal Ritter High School was the site of a Holy Week celebration today as the new Stations of the Cross were dedicated in honor of Sister Norma Rocklage, OSF of Marian University. The Stations of the Cross depict the immense love that God has for His people. It is tting that the new Stations of the Cross are dedicated in gratitude for the ministry of Sister Norma because she is known for her self-giving love and her total dedication to serving God by caring for others.
Sister Norma is loved and admired by many people for her kindness, cheerfulness, wisdom, and patience. She seems to be everywhere – school functions, administrative meetings, sporting events, and informal gatherings – both at Marian University and Cardinal Ritter High School. She cares deeply about both schools and generously gives of her time and energy. Despite her busy schedule, she provides spiritual guidance and direction to many grateful people, always humbly praying that she does not get in the way of God’s grace. For people who know her, she embodies the divine virtues that all Christians are called to embrace – faith, hope, and, the greatest of all, love.

CRHS Guidance gets a “Gold Star”
Congratulations to the Cardinal Ritter Guidance Department! The Indiana Department of Education once again honored CRHS with the Indiana Gold Star Counseling Award!
Gold Star schools undergo a rigorous process to raise student achievement by creating local community advisory groups that review student data, set specific student goals, and commit to maximizing the time and skills of the school counselor. The official award presentation will be at the Indiana School Counselor Association (ISCA) fall conference in Indianapolis on November 11, 2011.
"Indiana's Gold Star Schools collaborate with community partners to assist the school counselor(s) in making data-based decisions to ensure that all students are successful," says IDOE School Counselor Consultant Amanda Culhan. "We recognize Cardinal Ritter High School for understanding the tremendous impact that school counselors can have in helping students succeed in school and also to plan for post-secondary success."
We're proud of the entire Guidance Department and the way they "Represent Ritter" with this achievement: Chris Ardelean - Registrar, Joanne Lettich - Guidance Department Director, Lindsay Thomas - Guidance Counselor, Michael Clark - Junior High Guidance Counselor, Lisa Brannick - Social Worker, and Dora Villegas - Guidance Secretary/Translator.

My Cardinal Ritter
My Cardinal Ritter
Just in time for the new school year, we've added My Cardinal Ritter to CardinalRitter.org! Parents and students will want to bookmark this page or make it your homepage. We've taken the information that is most important to current parents and students and put it all on one page. For example, if you're looking for an important form or today's sports schedule, you can find it all on the same page. You can get there by clicking My Cardinal Ritter in the upper right-hand corner of any page on CardinalRitter.org.
You also may have noticed the little My Cardinal Ritter tab at the bottom of the page. We call this the "backpack." When you click the tab, a mini website will come up from the bottom. Here you can pick what group you belong to: Current Parents, Potential Parents, Current Students, Alumni, and Faculty & Staff. Once you select your group, a customized set of links will show up - links that are more likely to interest your specific group. If you have trouble finding what you're looking for, you may find it in your backpack! If you have any problems or questions, contact CRHS Communications Coordinator Vicki Murphy at firstname.lastname@example.org.
