Learning Support Center
The Learning Support Center is for students who need additional support in their general education classes. Depending on the level of support needed, students may be placed on consultation or placed in a Study Skills period (1/2 credit). The Learning Support teachers work with the general education teachers to provide appropriate accommodations in the regular classroom. The Learning Support Center provides extra time for testing, small settings, scribes for tests, verbal testing, copies of notes and other accommodations depending on each students’ individual needs.
Who qualifies?
The Learning Support Center is for students who have a mild/moderate disability and have an IEP, 504, an ICEP, or have been identified by the general education staff as needing extra support.
How do you apply?
When submitting an application for admission into Cardinal Ritter include a copy of IEP, 504, or ICEP along with a copy of any testing that has been conducted when diagnosing the student with a disability. The Learning Support Director will then meet with the student and parents to determine what the needs of the student are and if and how we can meet the needs of the student.
Can my son/daughter get accommodations on the placement tests?
Yes. Please fax or mail a copy of the IEP, 504, or ICEP to the Learning Support Director.
